The Night Scout (1) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future (within 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

NOTICE: It has been brought to my attention that the cache box is missing from the end point. I plan on making a new one soon. (Thank you 2taylors!)

This cache is meant to be found at night. It is really fun to follow the trail after dark and it makes the actual find much more exciting.

The cache is hidden in an area of the Huron National Forest that allows primitive camping (no facilities except trees folks).

It is possible to drive within a few yards of the starting point on logging roads (great place to set up camp for the night).

Four wheel drive is not required, but could be helpful if you get stuck on the sandy roads or if it is muddy.

Look for the "Excalibur" tent stake in the stump as your starting point about 50 paces east of the road (we did not place it. It has been there for years).

Set up camp, have a hot dog and wait until night falls.

Grab your flashlight (a bright, focused beam works best) and your compass and begin walking DUE EAST from the stake.

The path should appear in your flashlight beam.

Good Luck!
