Geocache Description:

This is a family friendly hike in Nathaniel Cole County Park in Colesville, New York.

Nathaniel Cole was a Revolutionary War veteran who settled with his family in 1795 in an area that eventually came to be called Cole Hill. Together, with his son, Nathaniel Cole, Jr., he built a tavern on the corner of what is now Farm-to-Market Road and Watrous Road. That tavern was in operation as early as 1800 and became a stopping place for the stagecoach enroute from Binghamton to Albany.Part of the land once owned by Nathaniel Cole now comprises the Broome County Park by this name where the cache is located.

To get to this park take exit 3 off of Interstate 81 and follow Colesville Road approximately 6 miles eastward to the park entrance on your right. You can swim here in the summer, and picnic all year round.

The ammo can is located just off the nature trail.
