Geocache Description:

Terrain is not too bad. There is only minor bushwhacking required. There are some small hills and some loose sand to watch out for though. To find the cache go to the coordinates above. When you arrive at the posted coordinates you will be standing in front of a religious object. Project a waypoint from there with a bearing of 335° and distance of 270'. Cache is a short walk away, but beware the Banana spiders. They are supposed to be mostly harmless, but they still look creepy.

I'm not sure who placed this religious object. I asked around town and searched the Internet, but couldn't find any verifiable info. The stories were varied. Some said it was to mark the location where some Priest arrived centuries ago, while others claim that someone died there as recently as the 60's or 70's. Either way it is sacred to some and should be treated as such.

While visiting the site earlier I met a man who has taken it upon himself to be the unofficial caretaker. He tries to keep the surrounding area clean, but it still needs some serious CITO. He tells me the area is in danger of being closed if the vandalism and litter are not kept in check, so visit it while you can and practice CITO. The view is quite good and the religious aspect of the area make it interesting.
