How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The Emu Mob's sixth cache will test your English language skills, specifically, your ability to construct a meaningful sentence that includes an esoteric (adj. intelligible only to those with special knowledge) word. If you are a logophile (n. lover of words), this should present no problem.

The Challenge:

Finding this cache should prove no problem to an experienced cacher; writing the online cache log might be a different matter though! This cache contains an abecedarian (adj. arranged alphabetically) list of words and their definitions. You must tear off and take the top word on the list and you must use that word in your online cache log—you need not use it in the log book in the cache. Don't remove the clip, tear the word off like a pad.
Not all words are sesquipedalian (adj. long), but all could be considered imperspicuous (adj. obscure).

For example, consider the word 'hemicrania' (n. a headache confined to one side of the head, migrane). Your log entry could be: 'There were many people around this cache; retrieving it unobserved gave me a hemicrania'. Another might be: 'Earlier today I was laid low with a hemicrania, but I recovered in time to go caching this arvo (n. Colloq. afternoon)'. The more creative, the better. Please follow these instructions; the word police will be watching you!

Oscitation (n. inattention) to these requirements will cause the log to be deemed a canard (n. a false report, a hoax). The log will be deleted and the writer accused of having aprosexia (n. abnormal inability to concentrate).

(01/02/2015 Due to denunciation from cachers about the word list being an additional logging requirement and against the geocaching rules the word list has been removed from the cache. If you find the cache and want to play in the spirit that the cache was intended for please log a note and a word will be given to you so you can log it as found. Otherwise please feel free to log the cache as a standard canonical find.)

The Cache:

The cache container is a black cylindrical, voluminous bison tube, (BYO pen).
The ease of retrieving the cache will largely depend on when you attempt it—it may be more difficult on Saturday!
