Geocache Description:

This is a very easy cache

Tells the legend that many years ago a horse rider was hunting a deer in a very foggy day, but the rider doesn’t know that the deer was in fact the Devil in disguise, during the hunt the Devil tried to kill the rider jumping on a very high cliff that was hide by the fog, when the rider was falling he prayed for the Holy lady, that managed to land him and his horse softly at the ground on the other side of the river, according to the legend you can see the footprints of both on the stone.

In a gesture of devotion the rider has build a small chapel that can be seen today if you visit this place.

The cache is quite easy to find, just take caution to not be seen during the seek, when you find the black plastic bag with the box inside, take it to other place nearby, sign the log book there, then take your gift, close the box carefully with the bag, and being very discrete place the package on the same spot well hidden.

To reach this Cache you must take the A4 highway and leave at “Campo”, if you came from Porto is the next exit after “Valongo”, after leaving the highway turn your right, and then right again following the sign “Recarei”, in the center of this village you will find a sign “Senhora do Salto” follow the sign and your GPS.

Hope you enjoy the hunting.

Note: Unfortunately there is a lot of trash to take out, it makes us very sad when we placed the cache, the spot could be so wonderful, but both water and terrain was too dirty, just do your best, at least don’t leave any more trash there.
