Geocache Description:

Here is a nice spot for a view and to double up with another cache on the way (North Chilco).

Directions for northern approach hike: Drive north on 95 from Coeur d'Alene to the Silverwood Theme Park (about 15 miles). Turn right onto Bunco Road and continue driving east for about 13.5 miles. The road starts out paved, but turns into a dirt road (Forest Road 332). You'll be looking for a trailhead at the intersection of FS Road 332 and FS Road 385. There, you will see two concrete markers at the start of Trail 14. (Ref. Yellow Alligator).Take Trail past North Chilco Peak, and proceed 2.5 farther south. Take some water, the hike / climb will keep you breathing, no water on trail! Seems Meekus and I were out and about the same day. We both placed caches, both on South Chilco Mt. But 1/4 mile away? What? This cache renamed to South South Chilco Peak (Thanks MedicOne) Topos have Meekus on target, but old fire tower photo and National Forest sign mark this as South Chilco. Does anyone have any answers? Round trip approx. 9 miles. Shorter from southern route, have not tried that approach. Look out for noise machines earplugs are handy. Great Views. Peak clearly marked. Cache: Small Tupperware with bungee for extra support.
