Geocache Description:

This cache has a Southwest desert theme. A high clearance vehicle is recommended. Located in the low Sonoran desert so snakes, scorpions and other desert creatures are always possible. HOT from May to October, so bring water! During monsoon season, rains can be very heavy. If storms approach, leave the area.

This cache is my first. It is an ammo can, painted brown. It is located in the Sonoran desert in an area that is seeing rapid growth. The cache area should remain as desert for some time to come. The theme is Sonoran desert, so please try to add items in keeping with the theme.
The Lesser Nighthawk is a bird of the desert. A ground nester, and a voracious insect eater. They flutter about at dusk, and are identified by their long, pointed wings which have white spots near the tips.
Original contents included a log book, pencil and pen, a disposable camera and various desert items for trade. There is a special prize for the first finder!
CAUTION - road maps for this area are likely to be outdated. A new highway has been built in the area, and it may not show on maps. Many huge Saguaro cacti in the area. They do not grow arms until they are 80 years old! Drive around and see some of our most unusual cacti.
PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE WHEN YOU ARE AT THE CACHE. I will post them to the web site.
