Geocache Description:

Lets have a little get together.

July 11th at the above coords! Be there for some fun!

It is that time of year. The sun is out, the birds are singing, and the skeeters are flying off with small dogs in their beaks. Gotta love summer in Alaska.

This will be a fun little outing for all to enjoy. We can have a potluck style meal followed by some caching fun. Bring your own meat for the grill and a side dish or dessert to share with the gang.

ANWR, a local cacher and admin of the Alaska Geocaching web site, has some of the new yellow jeep travel bugs to hand out.

We will meet on Sunday, July 11th at 4pm.

Food, caches, fun, what more do you need?

Some of the games I am working on are:

Geocache Dash- how fast can you find the micro?
Guess how many Happy Meal Toys
Place the Flag- test you GPSr's accuracy.

Pocket Cache- Fun way to introduce yourself to others. One person will be holding the pocket cache. To log it as a find, you must introduce yourself to that person. They will then discreetly hand you the cache to make your log. The micro will be hidden after the event for you to log the find and others to enjoy in the future.

Some prizes have been generously donated by Common Cents, located on Huffman and Old Seward (907)344-2422. Common Cents is the local source for Geocaching gear. T-shirts, hats, geocache stickers, logbooks, and lots of cool stuff for trading. Stop on by and say hi to Deke Rivers or Mrs. Deke while you are there.

REI in Anchorge has doanted some goodies for us as well. REI is very Geocacher friendly (Davder works there) and they have some of the best gear around. They can meet your need for outdoor gear in a knowlegable and friendly manner. Lots of the really 'cool' outdoor gadgets can be found there. Check them out.

Add this cache to your watched list to be kept up to date on the developments.
