To get to Cathedral Ledge, take the West Side road west from RT-16/302 at the traffic light in North Conway (N44 03.345, W71 07.810). About 1.5 miles from RT-16/302, turn left (not the sharp left) off West Side at the large sign that says “Cathedral Ledge road to summit” and follow this paved road another 1.5 miles steeply up to the parking lot at the top. The steep part of the road is gated and closed in winter, and the cache may be impossible to find in deep snow. The views from behind the safety of the chain link fence at the top of this 500-foot cliff are spectacular for so little effort. This is a very popular site for viewing or for skilled technical rock climbers. Enjoy the great views but do not go beyond the fenced-in area, it is extremely dangerous! The cache is hidden away from this heavily used viewing area to keep non-geocachers from finding or disturbing it. The cache is a well-hidden small ammo box but it should be fairly easy to locate for any geocacher looking for it. The cache is about 200 feet from the far side of the parking loop, off the Bryce Path marked by yellow paint blazes on trees. The start of this trail is at the kiosk at the gap in the fence. Go through the gap in the fence and turn right down hill following the yellow blazes. You do not have to go onto any ledges or by any cliffs. If you think you need to go into any area that looks dangerous-STOP, and turn back, you are going the wrong way, you can easily and safely reach the cache. About 80 feet of bushwhacking is involved. As you are going steeply down the yellow blazed trail, you will notice a very dead downed 20 foot tree on the right edge of the trail. Turn left just uphill from the tree where you see the faint geotrail. The cache is about 80 feet from the yellow blazed trail. NOTE: This cache location is not appropriate for small children. Also please rehide the container well
