Triple B-Flat Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

CacheNCarryMA: I stopped by to check on the cache. No sign of the tether or the waterproof Pelican box. The area near the large rock had more accumulated sand than when I first hid the cache. I guess there's no fighting Mother Nature or muggles. I'll stick to hiding camoflaged ammo boxes in the woods.

Geocache Description:

Breakwater Beach, Brewster Flats. Elevation 0.

This cache is placed (it isn't really hidden) between the high and low tide marks at one of CnC's kids' favorite beaches. Add 1.5 stars to the difficulty and terrain ratings if you come at high tide. A good place to canoe or kayak - except during low tide :) ! There are lots of critters to watch here, including crabs (green, lady, and hermit crabs, and sometimes horseshoe crabs), minnows, and large moon snails. If you're lucky, the ice cream truck may stop by while you're there.

Parking
Parking stickers are required for the public beach parking lot from 9AM-3PM daily, June 15 to Labor Day, and can be purchased for $10 at the at the back of the Brewster town building on Route 6A, just east of the Mobil station. A parking violation ticket is $15. I'm not sure how often they check the lot for unstickered cars. You could also try parking at the sandwich shop, general store, or church on Route 6A and Breakwater Road, and take the ten minute stroll down the lane. DO NOT park on Breakwater Road!

Cache Details
Depending on when you're searching, the cache will be in 0 to 8 feet of water. The 6"x4"x3" container is fastened by removable clips to a four-foot long tether, so it should float at or near the surface when the tide is in.

Restoring the Cache
Please make sure the seal is clean - run your finger around the soft black rubber gasket - and that nothing (ziploc bag) is obstructing it. Be certain the clips are secure when you restore the cache. It should be tethered, but allowed to float near the water's surface.

Please do not leave any trade items that might corrode or break down in the saltwater. This cache gets a lot of non-geocacher traffic, so you may want to avoid placing travel bugs and valuable trade items here as well.

Keep your fingers crossed and hope the container doesn't get muggled. If you find only the bare orange cord with yellow and red floats, it's been cache-napped.
