Geocache Description:

Number Nine in a series of caches placed while traversing the George Washington National Forest and surrounding areas..If you've followed the rest of the Rubicon Series, you know we don't like roads! Advantage to this is that you can bag Devils Backbone (GC2FAA) while you're struggling!

On the west side of VA, near the VA/WV borders run a myriad of trails. Just north of our Rubicon Trail #8 and #9 extends the Tuskarora Trail Some of these areas are easily traveled, but there are some areas that are accessible ONLY by 4X4 or hiking/horseback/etc. We're now a total of nine caches into the series. We're always watching the logs and the more resourceful of you found various ways to sneak into the backsides of some of this series, so we're working harder to take you to the "out of the way" places that you won't see on your everyday travels, or heck, see at all if you weren't chasing this series. Directions? Heck, you can almost drive right to this if you can figure out how, otherwise it's a beautiful hike, and the view from the top is just breathtaking. Once you find the cache, be sure to explore the white blazed trails, and you might want to take a camera. Please rehide the cache the way it was found (well hidden) so the next person can enjoy as much as you.
