This multi cache micro is named for Robert L McCorkle, a longtime Chatham County politician. He served for 22 years on the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, four of those years as its chairman.

The McCorkle Bike Trail weaves its way around beautiful Wilmington Island and passes by my subdivision. Joggers, runners and bikers all share the trail with moms pushing strollers and dog walking dads (who obviously cannot read the NO DOGS ALLOWED signs).
To find the cache, first go to the above co-ordinates. At this location you should find a plaque. Find the year on the plaque.

The cache is a 35 mm film canister and only contains a log, please bring your own pen or pencil. Beware of muggles, the final cache location is near a well travelled location.
You can do a drive by and miss out on the walk, or park at May Howard School and add a couple of hundred yards to the adventure. Total distance from May Howard to cache and back, approximately .75 miles.
