Geocache Description:

Located (almost) at the summit of Broom Hill in Sooke, there are well-defined but steep trails and mountain-bike paths to the cache area.

The cache container is a black-painted .50 calibre ammunition container. When placed it contained a log-book, pen and cache-note as well as playing cards, costume jewlery, flash-light, and travel-sized sewing kits. This cache can be approached from a number of locations, but the trailhead at N48 23.280 W123 44.547 is the most direct, and has lots of parking. Approaching from Henlyn Drive is NOT reccomended as there is no public land from which to start the climb. The trails are clear and easy to follow, but you will climb almost 700 feet from the parking area. Remember to bring lots of water and a camera. The views of Sooke, the Basin and Strait of Juan de Fuca are amazing. On a clear day, you can see Port Angeles.
