Sir Pelanor & the Questing Beast
As we were walking down the trail
A cache to place by night,
We came across an ancient man
Who seemed in quite a plight.
We thought that he was strangely dressed
For being out in the wood,
A suit of steel plate covered him
From toe to shining hood.
''Good Eve, fair people'' he did cry
''Are you perchance to be,
My guides thru this accursed wood
Who'll save my quest for me?''
''I search for an elusive Beast
Who doth cause me to toil,
In this strange land quite far away
From my homeland soil.''
We led him onward down the trail
Our flashlights strong and sure,
To seek for clues left by this Beast
Who was a knight's true lure.
''A scale!'' cried he "We're getting close''
He darted 'cross the clearing,
It shone in our ''torches' '' light
The Beast, it seems, we're nearing...
''These are her tracks'' he exclaimed,
At the bottom of the stair.
'Please shine your torches Up the path
And better to be-ware.''
When with a sudden deaf'ning noise
There was an awful crash,
As many large & gentle giants
Did break with quite a bash!
"The Beast!'', he yelled, "I've found at last!''
He charged into the night,
And quickly we did lose him as
The chase went with-out light.
So here ends our caching story
It wasn't very long,
The clues for seeking out this one
Are hidden in this song
We hope you come find our cache
Your flashlight leads the way,
But never will you find the Beast
If you come in the day.
