Geocache Description:

High peak on the Idaho Montana Bitterroot Divide SW of Thompson Pass. Easy hike into Blossom Lake and then "Oh Brother".

This is another Bitterroot Divide cache to commerate the 100 year aniversary of the survey to determine the Montana Idaho line. After hiking in the 2.5 mile trail to Blossom Lake, leave the trail and hike due north up a very very steep bear grass slope between cliff bands for about 1300 verticle feet in a quarter mile to the ridge top. I would suggest using a trekking pole or ice ax for this climb. At the ridge line go right up a boulder field to the summit and metal pole with IDA + MONT on it's brass cap. This is the last peak before the the line drops down to Thompson Pass.
From this point both Blossom Lake and Revett Lake can be seen as well a Granite Peak.
I suggest this hike be done by leaving a bicycle at the Revett Lake trailhead and then returning to the Blossom Lake trail and hiking to the cache and then around the ridge and up and over Granite Peak and then down to Revett Lake and out the trail. This looks like a great route and the monstrous cairne and stone seats on Granite are worth a trip on their own.
