Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the Mossy Rock Trail, an easy hiking trail on the grounds of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery

This cache is located along the Mossy Rock Trail - a shady path through old, mossy forest and boulder-strewn grottoes where porcupines den - located on the 135-acre grounds of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery in East Orland, Maine. Begin at the grassy clearing about .30 mile past the Visitor Center (on Don Fish Trail road). Nature Trail starts from the right corner; take the snowmobile trail at the left corner. Walk in about .10 mile; your first left (red blazes) will be the Mossy Rock Trail. Please stay on trail - mosses are fragile! Hike about .20 mile, pass a log bench (on left), begin looking for the hemlock tree hauled out on a rock like a seal (on right). Head off trail carefully to right. Happy hunting!

The hatchery has several miles of easy trails to hike or ski. Trail guide available in Visitor Center. In summer, bring bug repellant and water.
