Miles Cove is a small fishing community located on the east side of
Sunday Cove Island in western Notre Dame Bay and is surrounded by
rugged hills and sparkling blue ocean waters.

Miles Cove
first appears in the 1911 Census reporting a population of 45. The
population since 1911 has slowly increased, despite the loss of
people to larger centres such as Roberts Arm , Springdale and Baie
Verte during resettlement in the 1950's and 1960's.
Miles Cove received settlers from other resettled communities such
as Wellmans Cove, Paddock's Bight and Jerry's Harbour on Sunday
Cove Island. When the causeway linking the Island to the mainland
was constructed in 1973 the community saw many people who had moved
away return.
From TCH at South Brook, take Route 380, then turn left on Route
381 over the causeway to Miles Cove. Turn LEFT at Pentecostal
Church onto a gravel road. 100m further turn RIGHT onto a rough
gravel road. Look for the sign "Wellmans Cove". You can
walk, bike or drive to the Paddock's Bight turn off. Pickup Truck
or SUV recommended if you drive. This is a super mountain bike
trail for those of average ability. At top of a hill N49 34.140 / W055 47.493 turn
RIGHT onto an ATV trail. This goes over a ridge and down to
a huge meadow at the bight and the cache. Keep right at a fork in
the trail on down hill section.
