Geocache Description:

A nice cache to celebrate being halfway to the North Pole while floating or backpacking or however you get there!

Our group of 24 spent 2 weeks rafting and kayaking on the Middle Fork and the Main Salmon, some of us getting every geocache along the way with many introduced to the sport. We wanted to set one and thank Paul S for the idea for the location. For rafters, there is an eddy just south of the cache. For backpackers, you can walk to it! GPS reception was spotty in the area with accuracy for both of us of 25-28 feet. The cache container is a small ammo box and most in our group contributed to its contents: Carbiner keychain, Yosemite Wilderness Pin, Alaska Pin, Keep Bears Wild Pin, 6 batteries, hand sanitizer, crockies, energy booster, first aid guide, band aid, Louisiana Quarter, insulated cup, small sewing kit, fireproof matches in container, a repaired 3 piece rock, and one person's "2 cents worth".
