The cache is a small ammo box placed apx. 120 feet south of the trail that decends into Brush Creek Cave.
This location is off the Red Cloud Loop Road which is off Highway 191 which heads north out of Vernal to Flaming Gorge Recreation area. The cache can be accessed by four wheeler ATV or by hiking. The ATV trails are numerous in the area so it would pay to have a good idea where you are going before you head out. The hiking trail head to the cache site has very limited parking at N40*42.025 W 109*35.164 and is fairly steep. I was able to take a reasonably good GPS reading at the ATV trail junction at N40*41.823 W109*35.029 which is also the apx. entrance to the Brush Creek Cave only 50 feet higher. There was still quite a large icicle back in the cave about 40 feet with a diameter of apx. 20 feet at the base when I placed the cache on 7-10-2004. I forgot my camera which was a major mistake because the photo opts are many and spectacular!!! Please, if you have a camera while you are at the cache site, take some pictures and post them so others can get a glimpse of this beautifully unique location in Eastern Utah.
