This is a series of 5 caches. The posted coordinates are not the final coordinates for this 5th cache, this can only be located by matching the partial coordinates which are found by visiting Ash Wednesday Memories 1,2,3 and 4.
This 5th cache is a medium to large cliplock container. Please take the time to visit the original posted coordinates and view the memorial here.
On 16th of February 1983 this area was one of many in Victoria which was devastated by the most serious bushfire crisis ever seen in this state. Many fires occurred extending from South Australia through to the Dandenong ranges and further East.Over the course of 24 hours over 2000 homes were lost making it the worst bushfire day in terms of property loss and more importantly loss of life that Australia has ever seen.76 people in total died that day.At the posted coordinates is a memorial to 12 firefighters who perished here on that day. 6 firefighters were from the Narre Warren fire brigade, 5 firefighters were from Panton Hill fire brigade and 1 was a casual firefighter helping to try and bring the fire under control.A sudden and early wind change turned a manageable blaze into an inferno from which they were unable to escape. On attempting this series of caches please take the time to look around and wonder what it must have been like on that terrible day.
Be aware that when you have found the clues that my EPE readings were varying from 10-30 metres over 3 different days. The decrypt clue should be sufficiently detailed to find the cache when you have found the partial coordinates.
