Gilgal Cementery

Cache is a medium screw top container painted black with various trinkets to trade . Cache also contains a log book and pencil. Please rehide as found. Located at this cemetery is a revolutionary war patriot:Thomas Todd was born June 3, 1760, near Easton, Pennsylvania, the names of his parents are not known, and there is little known of his early life.While a resident of Rowan County, North Carolina, Thomas TODD volunteered June 3, 17777 aand served as a private in Capt David COWAN'S and John ARMSTRONG'S company and Col DIXON'S North Carolina Regiment. His total tour of duty was 14 months and 7 days. He was in the Battle of Stone. Other details of his service are not known, He volunteered in 1781 as a substitute for his brother, Benjamin TODD, and served two months as a private., this was in Capt James CRAIG's company of light horse, under Col DAVIE with the North Carolina Troops.Todd moved about 1791 from Rowan Co, N Carolina to Madison County, Kentucky where he residing when a pension was allowed on his application which was executed Aug 13m 1832. Todd moved about 1839 from Madison County, Kentucky to Lawrence County, Indiana to live with his children. His wife's name Zipphora CONGER and they had 11 children.Todd died April 5, 1843 and was buried in Gilgal Cemetery, which is located north of Heltonville, Indiana. The gravesite is marked with the orignal stone.
