Ha, Ha. Very Ferny Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Team Screamapillar to find out about the status of this cache on May 10th 2006. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

If you would like to replace it and have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

A quick, easy cache over a bit of controversial land in Georgetown, MA. A hill is involved. There are spectacular ferns in the Spring and Summer.

9/18/05 - Cache maintenance First clue was relocated to a new spot. Final location was moved due to bees.

Lufkin's Brook is a plot of land that the town of Georgetown, and the DEM and some other folk maintain... allegedly. According to this newspaper article in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune, there is question as to whether or not the town actually owns the land. I figured, until they figure all that out, it's cacheable. So I hid a cache.

You can park at the VFW lot and walk directly behind the VFW building to an unmarked but rather obvious trailhead.

The first clue is a 35mm film canister with coords to the final spot. The final location will explain the title, and I bet you've already figured it out. There is poison ivy on the way to the cache, but it is sporadic and there is plenty of ground debris keeping it down. I tried to steer as far from the evil plant as possible, but, it's New England.

Initial cache contents are:
log book and pen
camera
USA pin
2 bouncy superballs
little pig
Maine candle from Bar Harbor
Pez dispenser
marble

For summer cachers, the bugs here are very very hungry. They don't see many willing victims. If you are doing this cache in the winter months, please be sure to camo the container well. The natural summer plants in the area hide it well but that will all change with the late fall.
