Geocache Description:

Cache is place about 2 miles up the McClellan Butte trail. Nice trail through a forested area.

From I-90 going East take exit 42 and turn right. If you are going West it will be a left turn. You will cross the South Fork Snoqualmie River and follow road and take a right turn that has a sign to McClellan Butte trail head. Trail is well marked with signs where it intersects the Iron Horse Trail. There is one old road that you will cross that isn’t marked but trail is easy to see on other side. The cache is about 2 miles from the main trail head but for those traveling the Iron Horse Trail it is about a half mile. Trail is designated for hiking only above the section of the Iron Horse but there should be some good hiding spots to leave and lock a bike if you are riding. The area the cache is hidden among some very large trees. It is nice to see some of these giants now and then. There are several old mossy logs there including one at the trail edge about 5 feet long that makes a nice spot to sit and take a break. The cache is SE of the trail and in case I remembered that wrong, it is to the left of the trail when going up, so to your right if you are coming down. The container is white and a little larger then a quart, hidden at the base of a Douglas Fir tree. It is partially visible but mostly covered with a piece of wood from a nearby falling apart old stump. If you are having problems maybe try an 8 in place of the 0 in the coordinates. Sometimes reception can be difficult here.
