How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA) north of Royal, and is placed with the permission of the landowners. Please remember this is a WMA — use caution and consideration for hunters and fishermen.

Please be sure to hide it good, It has been stolen once already.

The cache is a small tube type canister. To get to the cache, start at these coordinates, which will lead you to the beginning of a trail: 42 21.137N 098 06.611W. It is about .4 of a mile hike to the cache.

This is a beautiful area with a fantastic view and plenty of wildlife. You may see white-tailed deer, pheasants, wild turkey, northern bobwhite, mourning dove, cottontails, fox squirrel, raccoon, beaver, muskrat, mink and possum. The cache is located near a small hidden lake in the WMA. The main lake, Grove Lake itself, has great fishing, with bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, pike, walleye and bullheads, and the creek that feeds it has rainbow trout (stocked by the nearby Trout Rearing Station) and brown trout.
