Geocache Description:

All you geocaching renegades, rebels, & rogues are invited to spend a night of eatin, drinkin and visitin under the stars at the Old Pioneer Saloon.

The Pioneer Saloon, built in 1913, is one of the oldest bars in the state of Nevada. Inside this historic old saloon you'll find bullet holes still in the walls, original poker tables, an 1860s cherrywood bar & when it gets chilly an old potbelly stove heats the place.

Being that this is October, the month of Halloween, I thought you might be interested to know that The Pioneer Saloon is a known haunted saloon and has been featured on the History and the Discovery channel in specials dealing with haunted buildings.

UPDATE - Be sure to bring a flashlight as it will come in handy for a little treasure hunt I have planned.

EVENT DATE - Sunday October 3
EVENT TIME - 5:00 PM until the following morning
EVENT PLACE - The Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, Nevada
DIRECTIONS - Make your way to Jean, Nevada which is located about 35 miles South of Las Vegas. From here take Nevada Route 161 heading West. In about 7 miles you'll enter the town of Goodsprings, Nevada. You can't miss the Pioneer Saloon. It's the first building you encounter on your right.

Whether your drinkin whiskey or you like that soda pop the bartender is an ornery cuss and says ya gotta buy it inside the saloon. The bartender also says there's to be no children at this here event. Says a saloon aint a proper place to be havin the youngins hangin around. This is a cash only bar. They don't take plastic so make sure you bring some greenbacks.

They do have BBQ grills right outside the saloon. I'll be bringin all the fixins for hot dogs and burgers. If ya want some other type of grub feel free to bring it along.

To claim this cache you will need to make your way to the above coordinates between 5 pm and the following morning and sign the logbook. We hope you can spend the night with us. There's a big lot right next to the saloon and we have the ok to spend the night in the lot. So feel free to pitch a tent, sleep in the bed of your truck or just bring a blanket roll. I plan on spending the night and hope some others will join me, but if ya just wanna swing by for some free grub that's ok to.

If you plan on attending this event please leave a note letting us know how many plan to attend in your group. This way the bartender will know how many bouncers to have on hand.

Be sure to bring your gps unit as I do have a little caching event planned. Bring your travel bugs as there will be a bug house or two at the event.
