Geocache Description:

This event will be held Saturday August 21,2004. 2 sessions will be run. One at 10:00 am for beginners and an more advanced session at 2:00 pm. Please log your interest by posting a note. We will have to limit attendance to each session to 10. All Geocachers with experience are asked to step forward to help out.

Are you new to GeoCaching or a grizzled old veteran?

Come to our latest Teaching Event. Come to learn new skills or share your wisdom and experience with the next generation of GC’ers. Either way meet some new people!

Come and meet philroi, one of the new Geocachers in the area and an expert at compass and map. He will be leading many topics which will assist you to …

Learn to get yourself around that deep ravine in the dense tree cover even if your GPSr can't get a good signal.
Find a cache, even without a GPSr.
Get yourself out of the woods if your GPSr fails.

Our focus will be on teaching skills that directly related to finding woodland caches. As many people are hesitant to track caches that are to far into the woods.

Bring your GPS, Compass and Trash bag. (Insect repellant highly recommended!)

We will be on FRS Channel 2 the entire day.

We will be teaching skills in the morning and afternoon, after the teaching session we will implement our new skills as we track existing caches in the immediate Bachelors Grove Forest Preserve area. Practicing CITO the entire time :)
