George Huxter Memorial Park is located just 8 km from the Trans.
Canada Highway on Route 390. Operating from June 1 to August 31,
the park is located next to Indian River Falls, the premier spot in
Green Bay for fly fishing for Atlantic salmon. The park offers 16
semi-serviced (electricity) and 4 unserviced camping sites, each
equipped with a picnic table and fire pit. Other available services
include an enclosed (screened) picnic area, flush toilets,
wahrooms, showers, and a playground for small children. The various
lookouts provide you with an excellent view of the Falls.
Great fishing is one reason campers choose to stay at George Huxter
(Mayor of Springdale from 1973-1977) Memorial Park. Most mornings
and evenings, fisherpeople can be seen trying their luck in the
fast water just below the scenic Indian River Falls. A fish ladder
has been constructed so that the salmon are able to reach the
headwaters of the Indian River and spawn.
The cache is a clear container
with a white top. Official geocaching label is visible through the
clear side. Usual cache contents. Very difficult to get an accurate
GPS reading due to the tree cover. Clue will help.
