Traditional cache located on the northern shore of the mighty Shannon river.Pinchers the travel bug has made his way down from co.donegal
The cache is standard, located inside a large tupperware style box .It is located on the northern beach of the river Shannon, near the pier in the picturesque village of Knock,co.Clare(not to be confused with the shrine town of the same name in co.Mayo,100 miles north). When you arrive in the village, the easiest option is to speak to Michael Kennedy, who lives in the house beside the village pay phone. He helped to hide it,and being a very friendly character, may invite you in to his home for his wife Maura to make you a cup of tea.Failing that you will see the local pub,"The Fishermans Hut",which is run by Kate, has a geocaching.com sticker in the window. To find the cache, stand with your back to Michaels house, and walk down towards the pier.Turn left along the stoney beach, and walk approximatly 50 yards, until you come to 2 small trees that have been uprooted by the erosion. You will see slightly further along a big dead chunk of tree,in a c-shape.The inside of it has been filled with stones, and these conceal the cache. To ensure you are in the correct place, there should be a small cliff, with the end of a boundary wall, and a small row of trees just above you.
