This cache is located in McDonald's Woods Forest Preserve in Lindenhurst, IL. The terrain is fairly easy and mostly all trail hiking.
The easiest entrance to the preserve is off of Grass Lake Rd. There is parking water, restrooms, and a trail map here. There is another entrance to the preserve but it isn't as well marked. You can find it by taking Beck Rd to Beck Rd to Beck Rd from Grass Lake Rd, no kidding. From the Grass Lake Rd. entrance it is about 1 mile to the cache. The trail is well marked and only the last 30-40 feet to the cache require some bushwacking. There is also a secret, unmarked entrance that will put you within a few hundred feet of the cache. Note: There are three types of trails in this preserve. Crushed Limestone, Woodchips, and unofficial footpaths. You can use all three, only two, or just one of these in your journey.
