[SWE] Vid Visingsborgs slottsruin.
[ENG] At the ruined castle of Visingsborg.

[SWE] Visingsborgs slottsruin ligger vid färjeläget på Visingsö. Slottet byggdes på 1500-talet och huserade grevesläkten Brahe i över hundra år. Åren 1716-1718 användes slottet som fängelse för ryska krigsfångar från Karl XII:s fälttåg. Enligt sägnen brändes slottet ner av krigsfångarna julen 1718.

[ENG] The ruined castle of Visingsborg is located near the ferry berth on Visingsö. The castle was built in the 16th century and was the residence of the Brahe family for over a hundred years. Between 1716 and 1718 the castle was used as a prison for Russian war prisoners from the war campaigns of king Karl XII (Charles XII). It is said that the prisoners burnt down the castle at christmas time 1718.
