Tree and a Half..again Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Tree and a Half... again to find out about the status of this cache on January 29, 2011. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Located in Copicut Woods.

Welcome to Tree and a Half...again! The parking area coordinates are; N 41 42.555' W071 03.902' There are several locations to access these trails. There are alot of neat things to look at here in many locations, so I would suggest taking the time and energy to walk around a bit.

If part of the excitement for you is finding access to the parking area, good luck with this one. If you WOULD like directions ("smoother" paved roads) to the parking area, please check-out the related website. Please keep in mind that some of these roads in the area are VERY bumpy.

Our nine year old daughter came with us in one of our many journeys to place our first cache. During this walk, she noticed a tree and said, "Hey, look at Tree-and-a-half!" There are a few pictures of this site for your enjoyment including one of the famous "Tree and a Half" Have fun trying to spot tree and a half for yourself. Feel free to post pictures if you think you have found it.

Although our daughter completed this walk, it was very difficult for her. We would not recommend it for young children. There are a couple stone bridges in the area with drop-off's a small child might not see, and fall. Although it is a safe area overall, please make sure your young ones are close by.

There are alot of stone walls in the area. There is no reason to disturb the walls. The cache is not next to, nor do you have to climb any wall to get to it. You are looking for a large rubbermaid container with a screw-on white cap.

The contents of the original Tree and Half cache included; ~ Spiderman wallet
~ Colored Chalk
~ FM Radio
~ Egg Sinkers
~ Ruler
~ Seeds
~ School Scissors
~ A Rain Poncho

We spent alot of time looking for the perfect spot. We hope you enjoy the scenery. There is alot of history in this area. If you would like more information, please see related website.
