Welcome to the 'Ocala Outlaw Poker Rally'. It's about time the Ocala/Marion County GX'ers got together and met each other. So here's the perfect chance. Take a chance. Come on out and let's have some fun!The get-together will be on Saturday, August 21st, 2004 at 6 PM. The site will be at 'Bankshot Billiards' just North of Ocala on NE Jacksonville Rd. Why am I telling you where if you have the coordinates listed above? Let's swap stories, play some pool or video games. And how about the award winning cuisine? If it's fresh out of a box and fried, they got it ready!
Here's the Poker side of this event: The five sites listed below are event caches where you can find a deck of cards. Go to the site and pick a RANDOM card. Bring the five cards with you to the get-together. Who ever has the best hand wins a prize. Cool!

These locations are obviously incomplete. I will update the web site the evening of Friday the 20th with the complete lat/long. You then have from then until the rally begins to locate all five spots and hopefully bring home a winning hand. You should be able to reach all five sites and make it to the rally in under an hour. Go to the sites in any order you wish. All sites are close.
The event is at 'Bankshot Billairds'. A pool hall if it is'nt clear. Under 18 is allowed, but this may not be suitable for the really young ones to stay for too long. I take my 14 and 16 year olds in here from time to time and they have a blast. This is NOT a biker bar. It is a neat place to relax, have a beer, shoot some pool and tell stories. I hope everyone can make it.

Myself, and CaptDC52, have been activated to deploy to South Florida as members of FL-TF8, Urban Search & Rescue Task Force. Our estimated time of deployment is between 7 and 14 days.
With regret, I will be unable to attend my own event. How ever, all is not lost. 'The Federation' has genereously agreed to step in at the last moment and to run the event in my place. I cannot thank them enough for this favor. The last thing I wanted to do was cancel at the last minute. Now THE EVENT IS STILL A GO, and everyone will just have to have a cold one for me.
Due to time constraints, I will be unable to place the poker cards in their hiding spots. So simply show up at the Rally site at 6 PM and have fun. 'The Federation' will hold a raffle with the winner taking home a nice surprise.
Again, I want to apologize to all for not showing up at my own party. Duty calls. I never could have anticipated the hurricane. Please give 'The Federation' a warm hug and thanks for their agreeing to step in at the last moment and to make this event a great success. Have Fun!!!
