Run To The Store Mystery Cache
Eswau: Thanks for the info. I heard that they had closed a park in Charlotte but had no idea it was this one. Not sure if I'll even be able to retrieve the cache [:(]

As the father of two small kids, I often find myself “running to the store”. I’m often after diapers, milk, bread or whatever. In order to find this cache, you too will have to run to the store. Only this time you will be shopping for items with a number in their name (V8 juice – for example).
Uniform Product Codes or UPCs are made up of 12 numbers. For the sake of this cache, we’ll only work with the inner two sets of five numbers. The first set of numbers is assigned to a manufacturer. So everything made by Campbell Soup Company would start of with the same 5 numbers. The second set is used by Campbell’s to separate individual products and package sizes. So, a can of Campbell’s Alphabet soup would have the same first 5 digits as a can of Campbell’s V8 Juice but different last five numbers. A 8 oz bottle of V8 would have the same first five numbers but would have a different second set of numbers than a 6 oz can of V8.
While I’ve listed an exact UPC for a product below, you may not be able to find that exact package, but if you match up the first set of numbers, you should be able to assume you’ve made a match. For example: If I’ve listed the UPC for a 6 oz can of V8, but the store you’re in only carries the 8 oz bottle, you won’t ever find the exact UPC I’ve listed. However by matching the first set of numbers, you will be able to assume I’ve meant V8 and 8 would be the value you need for that particular UPC.
In order to find this cache, you will need to print out this page (or copy down the listed UPCs) and take them along with the shopping list below to your local grocery store. From the grocery list, look for items that have a number in their product name and try to match up the UPC code. When you make a match, the number in the product name will be used in the calculations below to find the exact cache location. All of the UPCs were found at our local BiLo. I would expect them to be at most of the larger grocery chains. Ironically, I used a Wal-Mart shopping list, but only saw seven of the items at Wal-Mart. Be prepared to have to shop around.
UPDATE: Since I stated this cache, two new products have been released that share the same UPC with the correct items. Until I figure out exactly how to handle this - Know that my family would never eat Fiber 1 cereal or drink Zero Sprite (ie - don't use these two products)

[Once you have the correct coordinates, the cache should be easy to find. It's in a large ammo can and not very far off of a well worn path. Please feel free to email me your coordinates if you want me to check them before you go hunting, especially if you will be traveling a bit to get to the cache. Please don’t wait until the morning you're going to the cache though.]
