Geocache Description:

Join CACHE for one last summer celebration! We're having a BBQ in Aurora, CO. Sunday, August 29, 2004 from 9AM - 2PM

This event cache is being held at the Highline Park in Aurora, CO. I have reserved the picnic shelter exclusively for our event. The event is being held on Sunday, August 29th from 9AM - 2PM.

The park: Highline park is located in Aurora, CO. I have rented a picnic shelter which has concrete picnic benches and seats 48 people. We can also bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on. There is a large playground right next to the shelter and REAL bathrooms are nearby. The picnic shelter also has 2 built in grills.

The food: Indygo and I will bring hotdogs, hamburgers, cheese, soda, buns and charcoal. We will need an RSVP (posted here as a note) so we will know how much stuff to buy. PLEASE RSVP and let us know exactly how many people will be in your group! If anyone wants to volunteer to bring anything, please let me know so we can get everything coordinated ahead of time. Also, potluck dishes (side items, dessert, chips, etc.) would be much appreciated! Team GeoHoy is in charge of the grill!

Fun and games: We will be having two free cache raffles. I will provide the large ammo can, logbook and stash note. Everyone that wants to participate in the raffle should bring one item to place in one of the cans. The winners will each receive one free ready-to-hide cache!

Park rules: These rules are posted on the City of Aurora Parks and Open Space web site. If anyone wants beer, it is BYOB. Only the possession or consumption of 3.2% alcohol content beer is permitted in Aurora Parks. Dogs are welcome but are not permitted to run at large in the parks or any areas designated for park usage. All dogs must be on a leash, cord or chain, not longer than 10 feet.

Volunteers: If anyone would like to volunteer to help me out with this, please email me. Organizing an event alone can be difficult sometimes so ANY help is MUCH appreciated!
So far we have:
Indygo: Helping me with setup and burger/dogs/buns/cheese
Idano: Bringing condiments, paper plates and napkins
Team GeoHoy: The grill team
Bhob: Making a donation and will stay afterwards to help with clean-up
CO Admin: Making a donation and bringing some YJTB's
Amelia Earhart: Making a donation
Anne Bonney: Making a donation
Mondou2: Making a donation
Eye Tech: Bringing chips and a side dish
Volleygod: Bringing a side dish (dessert! Yum!)
TeamRox: Making a donation
4walls: Making a donation and bringing a side dish

Donations: Since I work for the City of Aurora, I got a discount on the picnic shelter rental. It cost me $48.00. Indygo and I will be visiting Sam's Club the night before the event to get all of our supplies. If anyone would like to contribute to help out with the shelter rental costs, burger/hot dog costs, etc, please contact me. DONATIONS ARE *NOT* REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS EVENT! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
