Hardware's Halloween Haunt Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hardware: The cache has been available for three months and Halloween is over, time to say goodbye to another Halloween season.

On a cool November night I ventured through the corn one last time and emerged with the cache. It was a bittersweet moment.

This cache site proved to be a great one in August, when the corn was healthy. By Halloween the path to the cache area was much too obvious, as the corn was much less forbidding. But even though nature tried to expose the cache, astute geocachers made sure it remained a challenge to find. Thank you.

Much of the final cache contents will be recycled until next year. Since nobody claimed the final three travel bugs dropped here, I have done so. I hope to take them on a road trip east following Thanksgiving, if the stars align. If they don't, these bugs will be dropped much closer to home.

Thanks for visiting the cache.

Geocache Description:

Halloween is coming...Hardware's Halloween geocache is here!

No, the container is not an orange pumpkin, but the contents are mostly Halloween related.

The cache is located off a paved pedestrian trail in Eden Prairie. The trail is open to the public, but it is a bit tricky figuring out where to properly access this trail. I have a couple of ideas, but I'm not making recommendations. Half the challenge may be determining where to park.

There is an established trail to the cache area, but watch out for the children of the corn. I do not recommend searching out this cache alone, especially at night. Blair Witch moments have been reported here!

You are encouraged to trade Halloween items if you're taking Halloween items. Upon further consideration I decided that it's impractical to expect geocachers to have Halloween items available for trade, especially in early August. I have additional Halloween items I can add to the cache down the road, but those who have Halloween items to trade are encouraged to do so. Thank you!
