Yaroslavl Bridge was built in 1992. It was designed to follow
the line of the old walls of the ancient city of Exeter. The bridge
actually "bridges the gap" between existing sections of the ancient
city wall. It is very cleverly done. There is a commemerative
plaque mid-way across the bridge. The bridge was put there to allow
users of the adjacent design award winning Cathedral and Quay car
park to walk into the city centre without having to cross the main
road.
You are looking for a 35mm film cannister containing a booklet
with several log sheets and a Geocaching information sheet. Due to
popular demand, I have now added micro-pencils to this and all my
other Exeter Bridge series micro caches.
Pay and Display parking is available nearby, but you may be
lucky and find some on street parking in the area. Please be aware
that there are residents parking areas and metered areas as
well.
Enjoy the bridge. From here you can walk for a few minutes right
down to Exeter quayside to complete two of my other caches
Quayside Century and
Exeter Bridges 5: Trew's Weir Bridge. Allow 90 minutes to do
both, but a fast walker could do it within the hour. Once you find
the cache, it may be prudent to sit down so you may find it easier
to rehide it (watch out for any broken glass). Please be careful
that you are not seen returning the cache container to its hiding
place from the nearby flats.
The hint gives you the exact location of the cache.
