Geocache Description:

I’ve wanted to put a cache where I work, which would be quite a challenge with the number of youth hanging out here at night. So this is a micro cache, well hidden. To make this more challenging, I emulated the Walk in the Park cache at Bayfront. This one is located at the Morgan Park Recreation Center park across the street from the Morgan Park Middle School. This recreation center was built in 1982 after the city had to tear down the original one built by the US Steel company. The original building had a bowling alley, a theater, a gym with a suspended track and a swimming pool. The current one is a bit smaller than that. Morgan Park was built when US Steel located here. Over 3600 people were employed by the company during the war. US Steel built most of the homes in the area, as well as the school, and one of the churches. The company shut down in the early 1970s. The entire cache is located outside and within park boundaries. The coordinates for the final container are:46° 41.xxx92° 12.yyyYou will be given five numbers to use. You may use each number only once. To find xxx, add some of the clues together. To find yyy, add the other numbers together.Clue 1: Go and find the 3 foot tall object located at 46° 41.242 and 92°12.484. Take the number of letters in the color of the object and multiply that number by 5. This is your first clue.Clue 2: Count the number of light poles needed to light the two hockey rinks. Multiply this number by 30. This is your second clue.Clue 3: Go to the man made object located at 46°41.232 and 92°12.618. Including that object, count the total number in the park of similar objects. Include all of them, even if they run along the street. Do not count any across the street, only the ones on park property. Do not count objects that perform the same function, but are not the same style. Multiply that number by 20, then minus 12. That is the third clue.Clue 4: Take the total number of babies, kids, and/or adults that can swing or slide at one time, add 150, and minus 45. That is the fourth clue.Clue 5: Count the number of dark, brown letters near the peak of the roof on the west side of the building. Multiply that number by 3 to get the last clue. Double check your work by adding all of your numbers together. They should equal 737. Also clue number 2 is 10 times clue number 1. There is no room to trade anything in the container. I did put 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Duluth Parks and Recreation ribbons in there for the first 3 cachers that find it. Please take the appropriate award. Be sure to stop in and say “hi” (but not on the weekends).
