Geocache Description:

WARNING: Do not go to the above coordinates first. Because of Wilderness Park regulations, this geocache has been changed into a three part cache. This change did not increase the distance or the direction of this cache, but it did make it much more interesting.

YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH PART I, II and III TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS GEOCACHE

PART I: Go to N38 56.022 W120 06.136 This is a tupperware container with a log to sign and items to exchange. It also has the coordinates to PART II.

PART II: This was added because of its' high interest value. This is a small tupperware container that gives you the coordinates to PART III which are the same as those listed at the top of this page. You will have to answer a question about this site or submit a photo. Please don't log your answers or photos that might reveal the answers for others.

PART III: This last part of the cache is a virtual cache. Either send to me, a photo of the cache site or answer two questions about the site. (See below) Please don't log your answers or photos that might reveal the answers for others.

LOGGING YOUR CACHE:

PART I: Sign the logbook.

PART II: Submit photo or describe what is so unusual about this cache site.

PART III: Submit photo or answer the following two questions: 1. How many lakes can you see when standing at the coordinates?2. What is slightly awkward about where the cache would have been hidden at the final coordinates?

HELP! As of this posting, the old physical cache is still at the Part III final coordinates. Please remove that cache (Part III only). You may keep it. Then log the fact that you have removed it and I will remove this paragraph. Don't forget to pass the travel bug onto another cache. Thank you.

This is not the highest peak in this area, but it is the highest for amateurs who climb without special equipment, GPS excluded. Again, an awesome view of Lakes Cascade and Tahoe.

Parking: Along Highway #89, at Bayview campground, 7.5 miles northwest of Highway #50 junction at South Lake Tahoe. (It's across the street from Inspiration Point at Emerald Bay.) The trailhead is at the far end of the campground. Fill out the Wilderness Permit or a Ranger may shoot you.

Kolly Wobbels taking in the view. Follow the trail to the top of Cascade Falls. Go upstream from there. There is no marked trail to this cache. Veer left rather than right. You will be hiking on large rock banks. Climbing the rock banks is easier than going through the brush or trees, which are downright wicked.

Cache is a tupperware container with interesting items to trade or steal. It's hard to believe, but I left a pencil in this one.

You gotta be hungry by the time you get up here. To get out of the wind, there is a very nice picnic spot at coordinates: N 38° 55.726 W 120° 06.235

Dogs? Yes, let them run. Remember that if they run too hard on granite, they may get bloody paws.

Going Back? If you do decide to go back (which I highly recommend), I would advise you to go the way you came...that is... if you came the way I told you. If you try to return via west, down and around the rock pile the cache is on, you are inviting misery. There is an avalanche rock pile blocking your path. You will end up carrying your dog and small children over some of the larger ones. The brush they are in are worse. We know, we have been there twice in the past.
