Geocache Description:

Terrain is more like 1.5 once you are there. I classed it a 2 because of the long, somewhat arduous, but beautiful drive to get there. If accessability changes, terrain would become more like 3 1/2 because of hiking distance. Altitude reading was 2360 ft.

The view here is just incredible. One of the best you will find in Thurston County. There is even a hand built set of rock chairs to sit on and enjoy the scenery about 20 feet from the cache. The view from here includes all of the Olympic Mountain range, Mt Ranier, much of Puget Sound, portions of Summit Lake, and the city of Olympia. The cache is a small peanut butter jar.

*****Due to the floods of December 2007, the Rock Candy Mountain road is closed from about 1 mile above the entrance at Rt 8 to the saddle. There is another access road about 2 miles west on Rt 8 that is open and passable to the top of Rock Candy Mt, and across to Capitol Peak.*****
