“INDIANA SPIRIT
QUEST”
The Indiana Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of small, rural, historic
cemeteries built by Hoosier (What's a hoosier?) Pioneers in central
Indiana. You can map out a route and get a bunch of ‘em in one trip
and at the same time learn a little about our past.
INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST
#48
”Triple Patricks”
From the north, Take the Mail Trace Road
towards LaGro, Indiana to get to this cache. Located in St.
Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery (The Church is in town), placed
by Earthdog Patrick, and you must find a simple foot stone marker
that says "Patrick". Then you will be very close to the cache...
Don't miss the gigantic wooden cross, actually how could you miss
it? It's almost a hazard to low flying aircraft. This is a very old
burial ground, and some Irish workers on the Wabash & Eire
Canal are resting here. Actually, the place is filled with Irish
Catholics, and many tomstones proudly reveal the county of origin
in Ireland of the deceased...
The cache container
is a 35mm film can. Please replace it just as you found it, so the
squirrels can't get to it. If you find a fallen U.S. flag, please
stick it back in the ground, preferably next to a Vet’s Marker. As
always, please be respectful, and cache in, trash
out.
