The Living and The Dead Multi-Cache
JDandDD: Well, this one has been muggled. Unfortunately, the thinning out of the brush in the cache area has made this spot impossible for properly concealing a cache. Too bad, because today the site is very beautiful, filled with water and birds. So, unfortunately, archiving this one but will search out another spot for a cache nearby.
Thanks to all who visited.

The coordinates above take you to the parking spot for the
trailhead. This trail is part of the Trans-Canada trail system and
runs along a terrace at the Midland Reservoir that was likely an
ancient beach. The search for this cache will take you to a portion
of the old military road that ran from York (Toronto) to the
Penetanguishene Military Establishments. The final stage will take
you to an area with open water (amount depends on time of year)
that attracts birds of all kinds.
Stage 1
The first stage is a camouflaged small, round, screw-top container
and the coordinates for the main cache are written under the lid,
on the inside, and on a piece of paper (same numbers in three
places for safety). Please don’t trade items in this small
container.
The coordinates for stage one are found by noting the number on the
building you’ll see at the parking spot, entering the numbers in
following table and completing the calculations.
Please note that the original stage 1 container was muggled and
replaced with a new one on Aug. 23, 2005. Though nearby, the
coordinates, the calculations, and the hint for this stage have
changed. Due to the amount of muggle activity please, please
re-hide stage 1 exactly as you found it.

The Cache
It is just off (about 30 meters) an unofficial side trail and there
is no need for anything but very minor bushwhacking, and given the
time of year maybe not even minor bushwhacking (that’s a hint).
Bushwhacking through the trees should not be done in this area
because of the amount of marsh. The cache is a camouflaged medium
sized Starfrite container. Please re-cover this one well also.
NOTE: Like most areas of southern Ontario there is some poison ivy
on the sides of the main trail but none near either stage.
