Exminster Marshes Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Snells Pace: Time to kill this one off. It's had a good innings, but the area is covered by a nearby cache. So people can still enjoy this footpath.

Geocache Description:

A fairly easy multicache located in Exminster Marshes RSPB Nature Reserve. There is a free carpark for 20 cars at co-ords.

WARNING - The area of the cache floods very easily after long periods of rain. Making the cache unreachable.

The cache is located within Exminster Marshes Nature Reserve which is an RSPB managed site beside the River Exe and Exeter Canal. The marshes are home to wintering and breeding birds. Winter visitors include Brent geese, Wigeon and Curlew, whist in the summer nesting Redshank, Lapwings and Warblers can be seen.
The cache location can be found by answering the following questions.

1. The pattern of fields and freshwater ditches date back over ABx years.

2. How long is the trail about Powderham Marshes?
Answer: C.D miles

3. Turf Locks is how far from here?
Answer: E.F km

Cache is at N50 3(F+E).(F+A)(B+D-C)(E-A) W003 2F.(B-C)DE

The cache is a short walk away on footpaths (do not stray into the marshes!!). It is a smallish lock-n-lock container (no big swaps please, there isn't room).

After doing the cache why not continue to the Turf Locks Hotel(maybe closed in winter months) only a little further on. One of the best pubs in the area. Ask for a pint of Dragons Tears Cider, brewed locally in Topsham.
