This is a great overlook of Peacock Gap and the San Pablo bay. To get there involves some moderate hiking or mountain biking. The trails at China Camp are multiuse so enjoy. Bring water and a snack and enjoy the trails and vistas. You may see turkeys, squirrels, lizards, vultures and deer along the way. The container is a 5 x 8 Rubbermaid. Elevation 248'
There are several ways to get to this location. You can choose to access any of the trails at China Camp and find your way to this end of the park. The site is just outside the park boundary. You can park at Bullhead Flat and access Peacock Gap trail near the Park Ranger Station or you can park at the Miwok Meadows gate and walk up the Miwok Fire Trail or you can park at the Back Ranch Meadows campground entrance and pick up the Bay View Trail. All of these trails will lead you to the intersection of the Oak Ridge Trail and the McNears Fire Trail. So you can make this a short 1 mile hike or make it a longer 8 mile trek if you wish. NOTE: Please return the cache as you found it. Make sure you have a sit and spend some time just enjoying the vista
