Geocache Description:

three-stage ending overlooking calf field pond; passable by foot, paw, hoof, or fat tire

Approach from Stony Brook Road, turn S on Run Hill Road, and park at the "top"; don't let Mapquest etc bring you in from Harwich -- unless you have (DUH!) your GPSr and a map! The Punkhorn Parking area is to L just after paved road ends (N 41 43.865 W070 06.491)

The total length is approx 0.9 mile *as the crow flies*; bushwhacking is not required, but is always an option. The terrain is fairly level; there are some elevation changes This can be ridden on mountain bike, hybrid bike, and horse!!! No major hills but fat tires help on all that sand.

You do not end up back at the Punkhorn Parking Area starting point.

Some readily available (Garmin Mapsource Topo) maps do NOT show Calf Field Pond; it does actually exist! There are also some discrepancies between the various maps published by the Town of Brewster over the past decade as well.... The website listed above is the most recent but does not include GPS data.

Accuracy of the readings were +/- 32 feet

This is a lovely area and primarily can be run on established trails, but this IS deer tick area so use your bug spray.

The multi runs through Brewster conservation land - dogs are welcome (the town landing close to parking area great is for a swim); no hunters. There is private land to the NE of Tucker Pond which is hunted; it ought be well out of your way.
