Located at the top of Cameron's Cone, a magnificent view point for just about anything you want to see.
For the best scenic route, park at Barr Camp Trail head (if you arrive early enough).
1. Take the Incline or Barr trail to the 4 way intersection of trail 620 (Barr Camp Trail) and trail 706 (unk name), there is a little stream intersection there along with a mile marker sign for PP 9.0 miles, Barr Camp 3.5 miles, and the ruins of the Old Environmental Forest Station .25 mile.
2. Trail 706 is about 75 meters past the no name stream and looks like a service road for the aquaduct.
3. Follow 706 through the canyon, awesome views, across an aquaduct bridge and to the end where it meets the Cog Railway near Midway and Ruxton Park.
4. Head Southeast along South Ruxton Creek through a beautiful Aspen forest, there are some game trails and the vegetation is open enough to meander along. It is best to stay to the Left/East of the creek.
5. Two different attack points, one is an East/West running ridge going all the way to the top, through a passable boulder field. The second is from Big Tooth reservoir, don't know much about this one but I think it is easier and longer.
The cache is a cylidrical tube about 2" in diameter and 6" long, nothing in it but a log and a pen hanging head height from a tree.
Round trip took me 5 hours, that was with stopping to enjoy the surroundings. Didn't use the GPS, but I am guessing round-trip to be 11.5 to 12 miles of gorgeous scenery.
Please post the route you took when logging.
