Beautiful location on the Adda river that witnesses "Leo's" stay and work.
Welcome to the GeoCache dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci!
During his stay in northern area of Milan (Italy), Leonardo “Leo” often visited the Adda – this is remembered in history as one of its favorite’s rivers where the master designed locks to make it more navigable. These designs also contain the drawing of a ferry boat similar to the one that can be found in this location. This ferry, replica from Leonardo’s genius, currently runs with no power as it uses the river flow to move form one bank to the other.
This location is not only a time capsule to all its visitors; but offers a dive into nature where one can empty its mind and relax, enjoying the beauty presented by surrounding hills and the soothing feeling provided by the river’s flow. Worth recommending the ice cream store (gelateria) and the restaurants in either bank of the river

Benvenuti alla GeoCache dedicata a Leonardo da Vinci!
Il traghetto tra Villa d'Adda e Imbersago è la testimonianza più sorprendente e pittoresca dell'operato di Leonardo da Vinci nel territorio milanese. Il modello originale del traghetto risale ai primi del '500 e quello che si può vedere oggi funzionante ad Imbersago è identico a quello che appare in un disegno di Leonardo del 1513.
La caratteristica imbarcazione a due scafi scorre da una riva all'altra come una teleferica senza motore, sfruttando solamente la corrente del fiume Adda.
In questo luogo i visitatori possono fare un tuffo nel passato ed immergersi nella calma trasmessa dallo scorrere del fiume e dalle verdi colline circostanti.
