Geocache Description:

This cache was placed for the “Go and Get Em 5” event. Please do not search for the cache before 6 p.m. Sept. 10, 2004.

To find the cache, you must first solve the following logic problem.

Relaxing with their drinks at the gathering after the Go and Get Em 5 event, 6 geocachers (Stephanie, Patricia, Liz, Travis, Michael and Doug) discovered that they had all found the Logical Deduction cache that day, albeit at different times (9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.). From the following clues, match the geocacher with the time at which he or she found the cache, the neighborhood in which he or she lives (one was from Rockcliffe) and his or her drink (one had Perrier water).

1. The one who had wine found the cache 1 hr. before Stephanie.
2. The last 3 to find the cache were the woman who had the beer, the person from Bells
Corners, and Liz, not necessarily in that order.
3. The person from Barrhaven found the cache at some point before the person who had
the martini.
4. The geocacher from Orleans found the cache 2 hr. before Michael.
5. The 3 men are Doug, the man from Cumberland, and the person who had ginger ale.
6. 2 of the first 3 geocachers to find the cache were the person who had a Bloody Mary
and the one from Stittsville.
7. Stephanie, who didn’t have the Bloody Mary, was from Orleans.

Now, assign numbers to the times, neighborhoods and drinks as follows:
0 – 9 a.m., Cumberland, Barrhaven, Bloody Mary
3 – 3 p.m., Bells Corners, ginger ale
4 – 1 p.m., Rockcliffe, Perrier water
5 – 2 p.m., Stittsville, wine
6 – 10 a.m., 11 a.m., Orleans, martini, beer

For each geocacher, find the total and then calculate the digital root. The digital root of a number is derived by summing the digits and then summing the digits of the result, etc. until the result has only 1 digit.
e.g., if Michael found the cache at 10 a.m., came from Barrhaven and had the wine, his total would be 6 + 0 + 5 = 11 and his digital root would be 1 + 1 = 2.

Finally, go to the posted coordinates (N45 19.251 W075 44.302) where you will find a sign with a number in the format XX-YY.

The cache is located at N45 AA.SPL W075 BB.TMD where:
AA = XX - 20
BB = YY - 25
S = Stephanie’s digital root
P = Patricia’s digital root
L = Liz’s digital root
T = Travis’ digital root
M = Michael’s digital root
D = Doug’s digital root
