Rockland Preserve Discovery Cache is an easy one to introduce this recreational area to other cachers that may not know about this gem. Park at N41 25.020 W072 40.413
I've been going down Rte. 79 to get to the shore most of my adult life. During the last few years, I've noticed a sign in North Madison indicating that there are hiking trails for public use pointing up a certain road. Usually, I'm on a time schedule or have others in the car so I've never explored it. Well today I did and I also happened to have a complete cache box with me so I went for it.After driving up hill for some distance and turning a few times and even asking directions once, I found a parking lot and a trailhead. I only had time to go in a few tenths but it appears to be an outstanding area for anyone that enjoys the mountains. I'll be back to discover it the next chance I get and now you have a reason to see it yourself.
