Geocache Description:

The cache as at one of the longest trestles in the state. Up until the late 50's it was a wooden structure built in the early 1890's. I can remember my father taking us to see it in the early 50's when I was a kid. It was a marvel to see. Exit I-15 at the Collins exit, continue west to 8th LN NE to 22nd RD NE. Ammo box and original contents: waterproof matches, disposable camera for pictures, cards, Montana magnet, space blanket, and travel bug "Iron Horse." Includes Logbook, pencil and sharpner.Collins is now a ghost town, take a look around and explore while you are there.

10/2/06 Info provided by "49Jeep." I grew up in Collins
and spent my first years(1949 to 1956) along the river just east of the trestle. I would like to clarify some history. This structure was built in 1913 or 18. It is aprox. 1/2 mile long and 110 feet high. I have a picture of the original wooden structure. You can still find parts of the original pilings in places.
