Geocache Description:

Three mile loop with crossing trails. (Has a short side trail to the 'rock spring' and a longer road to an overlook.)

NOTE: May 2006 maintence visit. Be advised. The pine trees are dying. Massive deadfall has rerouted the trail around the Pine Grove instead of through it. Hint has been changed.

'The Council of the Pines' is a peaceful yet powerful place. It invites contemplation and meditation. It is also where one can commune with nature through a simple walk in the woods. Our first cache is an ammo can stuffed with eclectic assortment of items. Sealed wax pack of '88 Tops baseball cards and plastic animals. Movie mementos such as pins, visors, key chains and free passes. A Gideon's Bible, St. Joseph medallion and spare AA's. A crystal and rose quartz. Even the mundane such as a padlock, ear protectors and hand wipes. But the best prize is really the location.
Enjoy.

A note about the name 'The Council of the Pines'.
Dave Carter, singer and songwriter, shed his mortal bonds in 2002 and is continuing his journey. The song lyrics included, 'When I Go' speaks of The Council of the Pines and I felt that Dave was thinking of a place like this when he wrote it. I chose the cache name as a tribute to him. Please visit this link for more on Dave and his partner Tracy Grammer who continues to bring his music to us.
